A Raakin Rahman century helped guide ACT Blue to a 95-run victory over Blacktown Black in the final of the Under 13 Western NSW Junior Cricket Carnival at Wade Park on Thursday.

Rahman hit 55 on day one of the carnival, but on days two and three scored a duck and six. However, he saved his best for last, with the unbeaten 101 containing 14 fours and coming off 107 deliveries.
His knock also came to steady the ship for ACT, who lost 3-0 in the space of a few overs after Ansh Tiwary was run out and Nikhil Hemardi struck twice in an over to leave the side 3-48.

However, thanks to Rahman and Nic Allen, the pair put on 80 runs to rebuild the innings and guide the side an impressive 7-234.
““It felt so good getting a cover drive for four [to bring up the ton] was amazing,” Rahman said.
It seemed 48 was a cursed number at Wade Park as both Nikhil Thokala and Twenty20 gun Liam Newman were both dismissed on that score, leaving Blacktown at 3-48 at the same stage of the innings.

However, the Sydney side couldn’t stop the rot, losing regular wickets while Xavier Nath made his way to 48 at the other end before falling LBW to James Haley (1-17). Cooper Pfeiffer (2-10) cleaned up the tail, leaving Blacktown’s total at 139.
“It was good to get the win yeah,” Rahman said.
“At the start we were pumped in the field and we were a bit sloppy at the end but still got the win.”
