During the crossing closures officers from the Central West Police District were present to help manage traffic, which had to use alternate routes to travel east or west.
“To protect the public, the boom gates at level crossings are designed to lower in the event of loss of power,” the spokesperson said.
“For extended outages, John Holland personnel work with local police to both ensure the ongoing safety of motorists and minimise traffic disruption.”
“We thank local police for their help in managing traffic and keeping drivers safe through the storm.”
