Benchmark Commercial real estate director Nigel Staniforth said the Hotel Orange on Summer Street was sold for an undisclosed price just before Christmas.
“It was a quick sale, we only had it listed for a few weeks,” he said.
Mr Staniforth said the buyer was a “local operator” who planned to continue to run the business as a hotel.
He said settlement was due on the property in a few weeks.
The Department of Industry approved changes to the hotel’s liquor licence from August 31 in an effort by police to limit violence and alcohol service issues.
