A 50-year-old woman remained in hospital on Sunday with severe facial injuries and broken ribs following a domestic violence incident on Saturday night.

Police from the Central West Police District arrested a 31-year-old man on Sunday morning in relation to the incident, which took place at a home in Orange.
The man was charged with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm – domestic violence related and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to prevent arrest.
The man was refused bail by police and is due to appear in Orange Local Court on Monday.

In the other matter, police arrested a 54-year-old man from Orange on Saturday night following a dispute in Robertson Park.
The man was charged with having custody of an offensive implement in a public place and malicious damage to property.
Police will allege the man became involved in a dispute with a person he knew in Robertson Park and at 7pm he smashed the victim’s mobile phone with a tomahawk type of small axe he was carrying in his bag.
Police arrested the man outside Central Plaza at 7.30pm.
He was granted bail and is due to appear in Orange Local Court on January 14.
