Councillors Kevin Duffy, Scott Munro and Stephen Nugent will put forward a rescission motion to reverse approval on a development application for the Robertson Park toilets. 

However, councillor Jeff Whitton said the only other option, the CWA Hall, could not proceed because the CWA was not interested in pursuing the plans the council originally had for the site. 

“The only other spot is near the taxi rank, but I think the reason they removed [the infrastructure] was because it wasn’t fit for purpose and for the times,” he said.

“If we go back to planning, we’ll be looking at the next council.”

CWA secretary Deborah Marr confirmed after the council turned away from the CWA proposal in February, the association had also stepped back, saying it did not want to devote any more time towards it.

“We’ve carefully evaluated every plan they put before us and approved several only to have the council change at the last minute,” she said. 

Cr Nugent will also join councillor Jason Hamling in moving for a master plan for the future development of Glenroi Oval to maximise safe sporting and recreation activities and minimise anti-social behaviour, plus a budget to complete the work. 

Meanwhile, councillors Glenn Taylor and Russell Turner will ask for the mayoral plates to be placed back onto the mayoral car. 

Mayor Reg Kidd told a previous meeting they had been removed as they were damaged, but further inquiries with staff indicated someone had tried to steal them.

However, Cr Taylor said the plates were a gift to the city of Orange for the official mayoral vehicle and security bolts would fix the problem.

The issue of security around the Orange Regional Airport car park will also be raised again, with councillors Sam Romano and Mario Previtera moving to pursue extra lighting, cameras and formal parking spaces.

The council is already seeking funding for the project, also including charging stations and free Wi-Fi for the terminal.
