Cadia Valley Operations’ workforce made the donations in an effort to support those doing it tough this Christmas.
CVO general manager Peter Sharpe was thrilled with the response to the appeal.
“We have a huge workforce that wanted to do something for the local community this Christmas,” he said.
“We are continually impressed by the fantastic work of the local Salvation Army, and felt their Christmas Appeal was the right fit for our workforce.”
Mr Sharpe said toys were placed under the Christmas tree at Cadia and the business would support the donation by adding gift vouchers worth $4000 “to make the toy donations go a little further this year”.
HUSBAND AND WIFE LAUNCH AIRBNB VENTURE
AS Orange’s Airbnbs climb to 172, Tim Mortimer has started a business to help property owners manage their investments.
Mr Mortimer and wife Flora launched Bnb Made Easy last week, which enables Airbnb owners to have their property’s bookings managed, from the listing and pricing to cleaning and maintenance.
“They give me the keys and I give them a monthly statement on how many nights they did,” Mr Mortimer said.

The idea arose from his parents’ Airbnb.
“It started dominating [my mum’s] time and she asked me, could you do it for me?’,” he said.
“I got the idea that there is a business in this – it’s for people who don’t have the time or don’t want to manage their house.”
Mr Mortimer already has five listings.
CHANGE OF LOCATION MAKING A SPLASH
GREENGATE Pool Centre has made the move to William Street as of Monday where it is known as Poolside Orange.
The premises was formerly home to Inkability and owners Nick and Tegan Cunial purchased it recently.

Mr Cunial said the building was five times the size of the business’s the old home at Greengate Shopping Centre.
“We can display a lot more items that people didn’t know we had, like pumps and filters,” he said.
With up to three swimming pools built in Orange a week, Mr Cunial hoped the business would continue to grow.
