For most of us it’s hard to imagine this time of year living up to the hype.

There are expensive presents to buy, food to purchase and hardly any time to prepare the house for the influx of once-a-year visitors.

It’s also a time when we feel the absence of people who have died during the year or miss those friends or family members who are unwilling to reconnect over Christmas as a result of an on-going dispute or silly misunderstanding.

Let’s go easy on each other this year, don’t set our expectations of ourselves and others too high and just try and find some small joys where you can.
