The Blue Heelers are hoping Anthony Redfern can turn things around.
The former Orange Hawks, Orange CYMS and Eugowra prop will step up to coach the Cargo first grade side in 2019, the announcement made following the club’s annual general meeting in early December.
The club is looking to play in all three grades in 2019, with Anthony Regan confirmed as coach of the club’s premiership winning league tag side and a mentor still to be appointed for the Blue Heelers’ young league team, after the pups entered the Woodbridge Cup junior competition for the first time in 2018.
Prospective Cargo players will get the chance to meet Redfern, and the club’s other officials and mentors, at Cargo Oval on Saturday, December 15, when the Blue Heelers hold a meet the coaches afternoon from 4pm.
At the top, Peter Seale was again elected Cargo president unopposed while Ash Brown and Dave Thornberry are vice presidents.
Angela Morley (secretary), Mick Donelly (assistant secretary) and Neil Dover (treasurer) make up the rest of the Blue Heelers’ executive.
Nominations for the new Woodbridge Cup season will be taken at the end of January.
