Orange Regional Museum manager Alison Russell said cherries are a feature of the festive spread for many families.
"Cherries resonate with Orange residents at Christmas," Ms Russell said.
With this in mind, museum staff have invited families to drop in on Saturday for “a fruit-tastic day of cherry themed Christmas activities”.
It’ll be a nice cultural event pre-Christmas to have a bit of fun and see the choirs.

Museum staff will lead children in craft activities and give them the chance to make their own cherry eton mess – a combination of fruit, meringue and cream – which sounds equal parts sticky and delicious.
Activity leader Alicia Gowing said it’s a chance for children to learn about the cherry growers in the area as well as other local produce as a tie-in with the museum’s Paddock to Plate exhibition.
As well as craft and cooking, the Orange Regional Conservatorium choirs will perform for the day at Southcourt.
“It’ll be a nice cultural event pre-Christmas to have a bit of fun and see the choirs,” Mrs Gowing said.
Staff said the event is suitable for families with children between 5-12 years of age and it is important to book the free event as it has limited capacity.
Bookings can be made online through Eventbrite.
