All matches lasted longer than that boxing farce last week during the Orange Squash Club Championship.
There were good wins for Glen Atkinson, Charles D’Aquino and Allan Coleman, while everyone had their thesaurus’ out trying to describe what Jesse Keegan did to serial pest Grant Michell.
Some of the adjectives used were routed, thrashed, annihilated and pounded with very little resistance.
There were also good wins for crowd favourite Steve Blackwood, Pat Clarkstone, Nathan Garton, Kial Huysmans, Graham Kidson, Peter Merriman, David Watkins, Robyn Chapman and Lyle Davis, while Steve Bigg knocked out the No.1 seed Basil Crayford in a marathon five games, winning 17-16 in the decider. Tim Howarth won as did Pat Williams, Robert Ryan, Luke Holden and Belinda Bunting while Jarrod Collett held his nerve to beat Brendan Argyle in five to progress. Finals are on Wednesday from 6pm.
