OUTLYING parts of Orange recorded up to 24 millimetres of rain in the drenching which hit most of NSW in the past 36 hours.

According to www.weatherzone.com.au, Orange’s rain gauges received 16 millimetres in the 24 hours to 9am on Thursday, with Orange Regional Airport’s reading an increase on that at 24 millimetres.
No parts of the region went without at least some rain on Wednesday, with Lithgow (49 millimetres) and Katoomba (124 millimetres) soaked, while Bathurst (12 millimetres) and Mudgee (3.2 millimetres) missed most of the moisture.
So far this year Orange has recorded 491.1 millimetres, well down on the 1966-2016 mean of 856.5 millimetres.
That drenching followed showers totaling 6.8 millimetres in Orange in the preceding 24 hours, helping take the city’s November rainfall total to 61.8 millimetres, still shy of the 50-year average of 76.7 millimetres
So far this year Orange has recorded 491.1 millimetres, well down on the 1966-2016 mean of 856.5 millimetres.
Unfortunately the seven-day forecast is almost totally devoid of rain, while temperatures are set to increase, especially over the weekend, when maximums of 25 degrees (Saturday) and 29 degrees (Sunday) are predicted.
