Musicians and artists will come together for The Berry Patch Arts Festival on January 12 at Huntley Berry Farm.
Orange singer Robbie Mortimer is set to headline the festival performing a collection of original material and cover songs.
Musicians Polyculture, Man’s Best Friends, Geoff Dwight and Shelby Jones are also among the names who will share their music at the inaugural event.
A selection of artists will run workshops and sell their wares, including Maisie Dickie, Zac Belmonte and Liam Dunne.
The arts community of Orange is just as big, if not larger than the food and wine community.
- Jessica Koruniak
Coordinator Jessica Koruniak said she found it difficult to gain community support to make a name for herself as an artist so she’s gotten behind the festival.
“I also realised that this is why many young artists leave Orange so soon after high school,” she said.
“I felt if they were better supported, they would have no reason to leave their hometown.”
“Artists can set up stalls, run workshops, do whatever they like in order to make money and gain exposure with the community. Everyone is good enough and all ages, styles, experience and mediums are welcome,” Miss Koruniak said.
The festival will run from 9am-3pm and entry is a gold-coin donation.
“The arts community of Orange is just as big, if not larger than the food and wine community. I am hoping this event will bring the community together in order for them to thrive,” Miss Koruniak said.
