After yet another scintillating Sheffield Shield performance with the ball on Saturday, the Kinross product was again quizzed about his thoughts on a potential call-up to the Australian Test team.
Tremain tore through Tasmania’s top order on day one of the clash at Bellerive.
The former Orange star took 5-13 in the latest of a string of devastating spells with the new ball.
Victoria resumed on Sunday at 5-148, a lead of 67 runs, but all the talk after day one was about Tremain’s chances of featuring in the Test squad behind frontline quicks Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins.
"You've just got to be ready at the right time - if one of them isn't up for a game or is injured," Tremain said after day one.
"At the moment, I'm focused heavily on the Victorian schedule."
Only four Tasmanians reached double figures, while Test skipper Tim Paine (three) fell slashing a Tremain delivery to White early in the second session.
The five-wicket haul on Saturday was Tremain’s third of Sheffield Shield campaign already.
He’s proving he can delivers part of a high-profile bowling attack as well.
Tremain’s performances overshadowed that of fellow quicks Scott Boland and James Pattinson.
Boland, the only Shield bowler with more wickets than Tremain this season, took 2-22 while Pattinson went up another gear in his comeback from injury and claimed an eye-catching 3-13.
"We always speak about it being a collective effort," Tremain said, the Victorian quicks having taken all 10 wickets.
"We got labelled bullies a few years ago and we really liked it.
"When we're on top, we really try and stay on top - foot on the throat kind of thing."
