Veritas House Business Development Manager Narelle Stocks said this rise had created an increase in demand for its youth homelessness services in Orange.
To provide care for these young people and its other clients, the charity employed an extra 35 staff in the last 12 months – taking it to 75 across five sites throughout Bathurst and Orange – as well as moving into a bigger premises.
Since April, Veritas House’s three Orange locations have merged to the one location on Sale Street, allowing staff to collaborate and clients to access different services more easily.
“It’s about the integration of services, because we deliver child, youth and family support,” Mrs Stocks said.
Veritas House will celebrate with an official opening on November 28.
