They snuck home against Team 6 Garlick with Jesse Keegan and Matt Garlick both winning well while the extroverted Nathan Garton hung on against Pat Clarkstone.
Kynan Baker won as did Belinda Bunting and Matt Wilson beat Harvey Wilson who is no relation to Matt . Lindsay Mahlo and Charlie Locke had the deciding match with the winner to advance.
The rallies were long and hard with both players stamina tested under severe conditions. Lindsay hung on to win in five cracking games.
Team 5 Howarth will be their opponents after taking out the arrogant Team 2 Atkinson where Glen Atkinson and Tim Howarth played well while wily veteran Rod Bevan hung on to beat a gallant Belinda Thurtell in five.
Michael Abberton played some great shots while Kiel Huysmans beat Rhonda Cavalli for the first time. Sonya Fitzgerald and Jarrod Collett both won easily while Albert Cavalli could have charged for assault after a follow through connected with club stalwart Yvonne Traceys head.
The pair were separated and the match continued with Albert guiding his team home. Final is this Thursday at 6pm and everyone is welcome to come and watch free of charge.
