The mid-20th Century American-style motel, which opened in 1968, has been extensively refurbished to meet 21st Century expectations, launched on Thursday.
Owners Ted Marr and Espen Harbitz took over the hotel in February last year after 30 years in Hong Kong and China and embarked on upgrading guest rooms, food and drink outlets and the pool.
They also added the Travellers’ Lounge, the Garden Restaurant, the Bela Vista Bar, Espen’s Salon de Luxe and the Pool Club to cover a range of food and dining options.
“We wanted to elevate every aspect of the guest experience and to introduce as many as possible features of the best hotels that we have encountered during our many years living and travelling abroad,” Mr Marr said.
The first floor terrace rooms and spa suites will be complete early next year and Star Ratings Australia recently reclassified the Oriana from a 3.5 star to a four-star property.
