Thousands of records – from $2 reissues to $300 rare vinyls – will be available to peruse and purchase in the Robertson Park hall on Saturday.
Orange Record Fair organiser Patrick Coomey said there’s the tactile appeal of browsing through records, checking out the artwork and picking up something you may never have thought to listen to, which you just can’t get from downloading music online.
“Vinyl is the was god intended for you to listen to music – the dynamic range you get from vinyl is so much better than a CD or MP3 player,” he said.
In addition to the musos heading to the park to sell their collections, local musicians Darren Smith, Corrugated Iron and House of Tribes will each perform a set in the park.
