The awards are presented each year to all nominees, in recognition of their own achievements either in administrative or sporting rolls.
The winner of the Junior Sportsperson section, was our very own Nathan Seib for his numerous personal wins on the court as well as team efforts, state titles and representative rolls, this year alone. congratulations and well done Nathan from all our committee.
Senior Sportsperson of the Year was awarded to Lee Stinson from the Men’s Bowling Club and the prestigious Club Person of the Year was won by Peter Baker, also from the Men’s Bowling Club.
The Central West Junior Champion of Champions was held in Bathurst recently.
Fifteen JDS tournaments were held throughout the year and points were awarded at each one, from under-10 years to under-18 years, according to placings.
This then decides who qualifies for the Champ of Champs because only the top eight are chosen in each. Nathan Seib finished top of the 18s boys’ points score, Megan Neville top in the 16 girls’, Will Gudgeon 16 boys’, Jarryd Seib 14 boys’, Holly McColl 14 girls’, Ella McColl 10 girls’ and Kaydn McLachlan 10 boys’.
All the kids played well against the top players in our region. Megan and Holly came third in their sections and qualify for the State Championships later this month and our club’s Kaydn McLachlan played well, coming in fourth in his age division.
Due to the popularity last year, we’ve decided to start up another A Grade Comp every Monday night, with the first of which commenced this week from 6.30-8.30pm.
