Not sure why but vandalism makes me sad.
The sort of mindless vandalism that’s been going on for years at the Orange Hockey Centre and surrounds is of the very worse kind.
Not only is it disheartening for the volunteers forced to clean it up, it’s also disheartening to think that there’s so many young people with nothing better to do with their time.
Being a parent is not easy, for sure, but one of the most basic expectations of any parent is that they adequately supervise their young children and teens.
How can you blame young bored, unsupervised people for finding something to occupy their time when their own parents couldn’t be bothered?
We’re not just talking about some isolated cases of bad parenting here, this problem has been going on for years.
This is a systemic problem and the end result of this lack of supervision will fill our jails for years to come.
Surely our children deserve better?
All the best, Trace
