The Anson Street, Glenroi Public School and MET School children celebrated ‘the cup’ as part of their weekly Riding For the Disabled program.
Head Coach Wayne Gallagher is one of around 40 volunteers who run the horse riding workshops with the children every Wednesday.
He said the fashions on the field and race was fun for both the young ones and the older ones, as is every week at the track with the students.
“They get a lot out of it and we do too,” he said.
Mr Gallagher said teachers have reported pupils work harder in the lead up to their riding day and one mum said it’s the one day her usually restless daughter sleeps through the night.
