The Orange side is full of experience, with former Australian goalkeeper David Wynne and current under-21 coach Rob Laffin both lining up in the side.
Adam Hurford will line up in the side for his third Masters tournament and is hungry for the top title.
“Lot of experience, a lot of game knowledge in that group. I can’t wait, I’m buzzing for it,” he said.
“I enjoyed it a lot last year.
“We’re pretty confident, there are a couple of new teams including on from Bathurst, a lot of good guys come out of Bathurst so they’ll be interesting.”
He said being one of the younger players in the squad was a nice change to playing hockey in Orange.
“I do enjoy being a bit younger, but I get a bit more of a run,” he said.
“But it’s good to play against guys from places like Sydney who have a proper indoor competition and expand our game, they have two days a week indoor hockey comps while we get together six weeks a year.”
Hurford said he wasn’t sure how the body would hold up after six games – plus the final should they make it – but said he and the rest of the side were excited for the weekend.
Two Orange sides will be heading down, with Hurford lining up in the firsts side aiming to take the title, while a second social side will also play.
Games kick off on Friday.
