Thunder and lightning meant the final two games of the five-match meet were called off, but Orange City skipper Emily Kennedy said it was still great to be back on the park.
Official scores weren’t kept from the games that did play, but Kennedy said the scores weren’t the focus, the enjoyment – especially for new players – was the important factor.
Kennedy said City had a good portion of their side as girls new to rugby, and said it looked like they’d “loved it”.
“It was really good, there was a good crowd considering the weather, the teams were enjoying it,” she said.
City’s second game with Canowindra was one of those called off, but the girls from both sides stuck around and Kennedy said they had a “muck-around” scratch match after the skies cleared.
