The Champions Trophy, which has been contested since 1978, will be replaced by a new Pro-League from next year.
Bone most recently led her Women’s Australian Hockey League team, Canberra Strikers, to the bronze medal after winning a shootout last weekend.
Australia is ranked third for the Champions Trophy tournament and will play hosts China (11th), defending champions Argentina (4th), Olympic champions Great Britain (England is ranked second), world number one the Netherlands and Japan (14th).
While Bone is a Hockeyroos regular, the team will featured three uncapped players.
Head coach Paul Gaudoin said they wanted to win the event but were also looking toward the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
“We want to identify the right athletes who’ll help us prepare for 2020, so we’ve taken the opportunity to expose some new athletes to the international arena, but we still have some core athletes,” he said.
Australia has won the Champions Trophy six times, but it hasn’t won since 2003.
The Hockeyroos’ first game is on November 17.
