“I came up with it about two months ago, I came up with it because we have a farm and I realise the struggles of the drought we are going through and everyone else is going through and I wanted to support them,” Elianna said.
“We are going to sell the artworks and the money raised will go to Tullamore Central School.”
Mullion Creek Public School art teacher Sharon Cloete said Elianna’s friends Amberley McLuckie and Sophie Gorman supported the initiative along with all the other year 6 students and every student in the school has entered art they have made throughout the year to go on sale.
This is their third year where the farmers have had no income.

She said rather than just sending the money onto drought relief in general, the money raised will go to a specific group.
“We didn’t want the money to go into that big blank hole so we chose Tullamore Central School,” Mrs Cloete said.

“In 2016 their crops were beautiful then they got late rain and their crops sprung so they couldn’t harvest. They are really struggling out that way.”
Mrs Cloete said the money given to the school, which is north-west of Parkes, will go towards hosting a Christmas party for the Tullamore students.
“As our children know you go home and feel the tension their parents have and their angst and anxiety,” she said.
Among the artworks to be displayed are copies of award winning artworks including three pieces that were selected to be displayed in Japan as part of the Nagoya Sister City Art Exchange and one that was selected to be displayed at Westmead Children’s Hospital.
Although students could enter any artworks of their choice, the exhibition has been decorated with a rain theme with umbrellas and rain drops to encourage the rain to come.
All artworks will be for sale and some pieces will be auctioned.
The exhibition is open for anyone to attend at 5.30pm for a 6pm start at Mullion Creek Public School.
