The film, which celebrates the legendary British band and the life of lead singer Freddie Mercury, will be screened to raise funds for the End Polio Campaign.

The Rotary Clubs of Orange North, Daybreak and Orange will host the event as part of an ongoing Rotarian effort to eradicate polio in the last three countries it exists, which are Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria.

The Rotary Club of Daybreak’s Ann Dib said rotarians have helped immunise more than two billion children against polio in 122 countries.

“Rotary, along with our partners, has reduced polio cases by 99 percent worldwide since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979,” she said.

Mrs Dib said for as little as $2.00 a child can be protected against the crippling disease for life.

“It will be a great night so come along and join in the celebration and at the same time help to eradicate polio once and for all,” she said.

Tickets for the November 7 event are $25 and can be purchased from the three Rotary Clubs as well as Collins Booksellers.

The ticket includes canapes and the film, singing along is free.
