People can buy a sub or wrap on Friday and get another for free and Subway will donate the cost of a meal to Foodbank to help Australians in need.
Foodbank works with the food and grocery industry to source nutritious, wholesome meals for vulnerable Australians in need and has reported that more than 3.6 million people in Australia experienced food insecurity at some point last year.
The initiative to help people experiencing food insecurity is part of World Sandwich Day.
Orange business development agent Tony LoRusso said hunger in Australia is reaching crisis levels so the company was contributing to raising awareness and funds.
Each donation will be captured on the Subway Live Feed digital tracker, and people can follow the progress via www.SubwayLiveFeed.com.au.
Last year 280,000 meals were donated via the campaign across Australia and this year the goal has been set at 300,000 meals.
