Emus and City are two of the five clubs taking part in the southern conference of the competition, which also includes sides from Bathurst Bulldogs, Cowra and Canowindra, while the northern conference will be based in Dubbo.
The tournament will span four weeks, with each club – aside from Emus – hosting each of the other four teams for two games each every Friday.
This week the tournament kicks off with a cross-town derby as City take on Emus, while City then play Bulldogs and Emus line up against Canowindra.
Teams head to Cowra, Bathurst and Canowindra for the final round, with cross-conference finals to take place on December 1.
One of those looking to hit the competition hardest is Tabua Tuinakauvadra, who showed what she can do with a massive fend-off at the Albury Thunder Women’s 9s Carnival last month.
It should be good getting some new girls into the game and making the Saturday competition better and bigger.

That carnival was a “nice little warm up” for the 7s competition, and Tuinakauvadra said that had wormed her into the sport.
“It’s just fun, running at people,” she said laughing.
“This is something a bit more exciting to do while netball’s finished, something new and different.”
She said there’d been a bit of a buzz about the competition and was hoping some girls would come down and get involved.
Only four Emus girls are part of the initial squad, with Em McDonald saying it would be a chance for people to come in to try the sport.
“It should be good getting some new girls into the game and making the Saturday competition better and bigger,” she said.
“So far there’s only four of us from Emus 10s here and the rest are girls who have played league tag or touch or something, so that’s really exciting.
“I think heaps of people have got onto Amanada or Davina to say they’re keen but can’t play the first game or want to know more about it.”
