POLICE are calling on the public to be vigilant following a fuel siphoning incident south of Orange.

A report by police says the fuel theft occurred earlier this week at a roadwork site west of Blayney.
According to NSW Police state rural crime co-ordinator Detective Inspector Cameron Whiteside, the incident occurred between 4pm on Tuesday and 5am on Wednesday.

“A lock was forced on the fuel tank of a Caterpillar grader parked at a roadwork site near Cowriga Creek bridge at Browns Creek,” Detective Inspector Whiteside said.
“About 100 litres of diesel fuel was siphoned from the fuel tank.
“Experience tells us that there may be more thefts in the area, so please do the best you can to prevent yourself from being the next victim.”
