The reading was taken at Orange Regional Airport, where www.weatherzone.com.au gathers its data.
There was consistent rain across the Central West in the same period, with Mudgee recording the most via a total catchment of 18.6 millimetres.
Elsewhere, Parkes (9.2 millimetres), Bathurst (7.2 millimetres), Cowra (6.8 millimetres), Dubbo (5.6 millimetres) and Lithgow (3 millimetres) also enjoyed some welcome showers.
Sadly for those in need of rain in Forbes, Wellington and Young, less than one millimetre was recorded.
Looking ahead at weatherzone’s seven-day forecast it appears more rain is on the way, with the weekend slated to be especially damp.
There’s an 80 per cent chance of up to 20 millimetres forecast for Saturday, with Sunday a 70 per cent chance of between five and 10 millimetres.
