Orange product Hayden Dillon is set to debut for the NSW Waratahs this Saturday having been named in the squad to take on Canberra in the ACT in the Australian Hockey League.
The 21-year-old Wests midfielder and former Wanderers star is fresh from claiming a bronze medal with the junior Kookaburras at the Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia on the weekend.
Great Britain took home the Johor Cup this year, ending Australia’s hopes of a three-peat, with the Burras coming in third.
Dillon is one of three rookies in the senior state team for the third-round AHL encounter who will be hoping to notch NSW’s first win of the season after two losses, including going down 6-4 to Queensland in Sydney.
