The 2018 Carcoar Show feature cake is the Duke and Duchess of Sussex-Lemon and Elderflower Wedding Cake.
Not really for the faint of heart, the feature cake includes lemon curd, meringue kisses, Swiss meringue buttercream and a lemon drizzle over the top.
The recipe is in the Carcoar Show program, which is full of the events set to take place on Saturday, October 27 by the banks of the Belubula River.
Opening the show this year will be Mel Johnston, who has nearly 100 open shearing competition wins, a world title in the United States, has sheared for the Queen, and was inducted into the Australian Shearers’ Hall of Fame in 2013.
The show will display the district’s finest livestock, with five rings including one for heavy horses and another for stock horses, prime lambs, cattle, wool, whip cracking and yard dog trials.
The wood chopping event will once again be a popular feature and the pavilion will have fabulous displays and competitions.
Gates open from 8am when the yard dog trials begin, with the horse events and shearing competition commencing at 9am.
