Race favourite Banjo’s Voice pushed to an early lead across the 1300 metre dash, but couldn’t maintain the advantage on the home stretch as it was overtaken by Pretty Song, Narrow Neck Nelson and Garry White-trained Another Shadow, who finished a length ahead of Banjo’s Voice.
Banjo’s Voice finished in fourth ahead of Ticket’s Up and Lee Van Den Bos’ Just A Dram.
It was Pretty Song’s third placed finish in the past two and a bit months, with the four-year-old mare finishing third at Bathurst on September 24 and third again at Wyong in August.
Meanwhile, Indicators On finished two lengths in front in the first race of the day at Towac Park, ahead of favourite Niccirose and Miracleofmiracles.
Indicators On kept pace in fourth and fifth for most of the race before leaping out of the pack with under 200 metres to go, while second and third had led the pack for most of the 1000 metres of the MCSigns Maiden Plate.
It was the second win on the trot for Indicators On, who also took a win at Warwick Farm late last month.
Meanwhile in the third race, a burst of speed book-ending Redazzity’s race proved enough to overcome New Zealand gelding Seven Falls in the Nagle Transport Maiden Handicap on Monday for his first win.
Meanwhile, despite being last and second last with 800 metres to go, Orange duo Cat Walk Queen and Snappy Diamond finished in sixth and seventh positions for owners Michael Plummer and Lee Van Den Boss respectively.
