East coast president Allen Wilson said only about 2000 people attended, compared with last years 3000, due to Saturdays chilly temperatures.
Its a real family event so when its cold, they give it a miss, he said.
There was a fantastic atmosphere. Its just the prestige of that title and the amount of prizemoney we put up.
- East coast president Allen Wilson
Last year it came in cold as well we had a crowd of more than 3000, but as soon as it got cold, half the crowd went.
However, the weather did not keep the competitors away, with 100 taking part this year, compared with the events usual lineup of 70, with one injury.
There was a fantastic atmosphere, Mr Wilson said.
Its just the prestige of that title and the amount of prizemoney we put up.
Regular cowboy Josh Barnett took out both the open bull ride and the open saddle bronc, while Harry Ash was best on the open bareback, Emma Thompson shone during the open barrels, Cody Hotskin took out the novice bull ride and Clayton Miners made his mark on the under-18 steer ride.
All winners took home a belt buckle as a prize.
Mr Wilson said the event could be held during the Australian National Field Days at Borenore next year to maximise chances of warmer weather.
