A 15-year-old boy has been charged by Orange police after allegedly stealing a Honda Odyssey, forcing police to engage in a pursuit before he crashed the vehicle into a tree.
Central West Police District Chief Inspector Peter Atkins said police had pursued the teen around Dairy Creek Road for less than a minute at around 10pm on Thursday.
He said police then found the car crashed into a tree on Lone Pine Avenue a short time later.

The youth was in the vehicle, and was taken to Orange hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash.
“He was later released and we were able to arrest the young person yesterday,” Chief Inspector Atkins said on Friday.
The vehicle was reported stolen from Nathan Street on October 4.
He said police charged the boy with taking a car, driving unlicensed, and police pursuit offences.
He has been granted to bail and will appear in Orange Children’s Court at a later date.
