Who do you live with? My grandmother.
How long have you lived in Orange? I moved between Orange and the Blue Mountains for the past 15 years.
Hobbies: Painting, craft, drawing, embroidery and sewing.
What did you want to be when you were little? A teacher.
Where do you work now and how long have you been there? I own Hidden Talent, Quilt, Sew Embroid. I’ve been doing this for just over a year.
Job description: Everything, customer service, shop manager, office management, embroidery/sewing services, teaching/training and marketing.
What other jobs have you had? Hospitality, traffic control, industrial painting, customer service.
What training have you done? Bachelor of Arts Degree from National Art School.
Why did you choose this job? This is the first job opportunity where I get to express my creative side. I get the opportunity to teach.
What’s the best thing about your job? I get to utilise my creative side and teach others.
What’s the worst thing? At the moment I have no life outside work. That will change with time.
Where do you see yourself in five years? The shop will be a creative hub buzzing away. I’ll be teaching, and showing my art internationally.
What advice would you give someone interested in this job as a career? Be strong and patient, hold on to the passion that got you here. It will pay off in the end.
