A teenage girl was in a critical condition in hospital after a vehicle carrying nine passengers crashed on a property in the Central West on the weekend.

According to police, the incident occurred when a a Toyota Prado had travelled to a property at Edgell Lane, near Ulan Road north of Mudgee shortly after 1pm on Sunday.
Concerns were then raised for the group’s welfare after they failed to return.

The car was located by a neighbouring landowner in a paddock at about 3.15pm, and appeared to have rolled a number of times.
All nine occupants of the vehicle were teenage girls.
A 14-year-old girl was ejected from the vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries.
She was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where she remained in a critical condition.
The other eight occupants managed to escape from the vehicle when it came to rest and suffered varying degrees of injury, none of which are life-threatening.
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District established a crime scene and were investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
