A woman who couldn’t find the designated driver who was going to take her home and then left a taxi queue because it was too long has been sentenced for mid-range drink driving.

Corina Lea Tom, 24, of Ammerdown Crescent, was caught driving with an alcohol level of 0.135 when she was stopped by police at 3.05am on July 28.
She was stopped in Peisley Street after police followed her along Lords Place and Byng Street.
I do note you did attempt to get a taxi, perhaps you should have waited a bit longer.

She told police she had four schooners of cider between 8pm and 1am.
She appeared in court before magistrate Robert Williams who convicted and fined her $660 and disqualified her driver’s licence for six months, back-dated to July 28 when police suspended her driver’s licence.
Mr Williams noted that Tom pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity and had completed the traffic offenders intervention program.
“I do note you did attempt to get a taxi, perhaps you should have waited a bit longer,” Mr Williams said.
