In addition to long lunches, cellar door tastings and boozy train rides, this year some creative thinkers have put forward some fresh ideas to ensure all tastes are catered to.
Here’s my pick ...
1) ROSÉ ALL DAY AT THE GREENHOUSE OF ORANGE
The Greenhouse will host a Garden Party on Saturday, October 13.
Your $30 ticket will get you a glass of See Saw Wine rosé on arrival to the upstairs gazebo area and a surprise gift.
Charcuterie boards and other rosé accompaniments will give you the fuel to stay all day and live music on the lawn will give you a reason to get up out of your seat.
2) LETTUCE, TURNIP THE BEETS AT HEIFER STATION
The clever crowd at Heifer Station are making the most of their sunny space by offering beats in their backyard.
From 4pm-9pm, lovers of wine, beer and cider are invited to head out to The Escort Way property, pick their poison and sit back in the sun on Saturday, October 13.
There will be cheese.
3) DE SALIS WINES DO VEGAN IN THE VINES
While it’s hard to pass up a roast duck and pinot noir, De Salis are out to prove that vegetables are good paired with wine, too.
Sydney’s Paperbark Restaurant will visit the Mount Canobolas vineyard to cater to the wine-loving animal lovers.
The lunch time affair will take place from 12:30-4:30pm on both Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 14.
4) TINNY AND TACO TUESDAY AT PERCY’S
It’s never too early in the week for tacos … or tinnys to be fair.
With that in mind, Percy’s Bar and Kitchen will provide the Mexican goods while Pioneer Brewing will put on the beers.
Chief Brewer Peter Gerber will pop in from 5pm-9pm on Tuesday, October 16 to take attendees through a tasting.
5) YOGA AND WINE FOR THE WIN AT STOCKMAN’S RIDGE
Yoga + wine = wine not?
Everyone knows the health benefits of wine and now apparently exercise is good for you too.
With this in mind, the good people at Stockman’s Ridge Wines have partnered with Sankha Yoga to ensure everyone is keeping healthy on the final weekend of Orange Wine Festival.
The genius match will include an hour of yoga from 11am followed by wine tasting and grazing boards at Boree Lane, Lidster on Saturday, October 20.
