The idea of the day is to celebrate the care dogs give to those suffering from cancer, and there will be laps of the oval with survivors and their four legged friends, as well as training, obedience classes and skill tests.
The day also serves as a registration day for the Cancer Council NSW’s Relay for Life in 2019.
Relay for Life organising committee chairperson and enthusiastic dog fan Emily Scott said she was excited to launch Relay for Life with Bark in the Park.
“I am a dog person, I’m very excited. This is the first time we’ve done a Bark for Life as the launch.”
“We decided dogs play a very important part in the human cancer experience and we wanted to honour their caring qualities through humans and recognise dogs can go through those same things themselves.”
Head to www.cancercouncil.org.au/relayforlife/teams/EI00047621/#join-event and select Bark for Life to register to head along, or sign up on the day, with registration $15 per person and $15 per dog.
