The cowboys and cowgirls are back in town for the East to West Coast Rodeo Championships at Orange Showground, which has been a key event in town for the past seven years.
Championships president Allen Wilson said the riders would be chasing gold and silver buckles as champions of each of the rodeo events.
“The rodeo draws the cream of Australian talent to battle it out in an effort to win the prestigious title of being crowned the Australian East to West Coast Champion of the year,” he said.
The Orange East to West Coast Rodeo Championships are supported by families with young children who keep rolling up at the gate each year.

“Some of the top guns who will be competing at this years Orange rodeo championships are Sam Woodall from Victoria, Dillon Weir from Tumut and Casey Crawley from Branxton.
“Sam is a national bullriding champion.
“In the bronc riding event, we will see national superstars such as Ben Lees from Singleton, West Australian bronc riding champion Luke Metcalf and Brendan Zapper from Texas in Queensland.”
Mr Wilson said he expected competitors to come from several states for the rodeo.
But a rodeo is not just about the riders and the animals.
Mr Wilson said the emphasis was on family entertainment.
“The Orange East to West Coast Rodeo Championships are supported by families with young children who keep rolling up at the gate each year,” he said.
With the drought, the idea of the country coming to town for a rodeo has extra meaning.
This year’s event will be supporting the Rural Aid Buy a Bale program and gives other community organisations a chance to raise funds for their needs.
Mr Wilson said other attractions would include country music artist Chloe Swannell and clown Big Al.
He said there would also be races against the clock featuring motocross riders and barrel racing horses.
“There is also a jumping castle and face painting for the kids, lots of food stalls and market stalls,” he said.
Gates open at 4pm, with the rodeo to start at 6pm.
