People always asked 'when is Bob Jane coming back?' and the club invited him again several times but his health and family problems prevented him.
Mr Jane, 88, died on the weekend after a long battle with prostate cancer.
Mr Jane raced a Maserati sports car in Orange on the old Gnoo Blas racing circuit around Jack Brabham Park and the hospital.
He was an influential character in motor sport and made a significant contribution across many years.
The early 1960s saw his Bob Jane T-Marts business and racing success come to the fore with four wins in the Australian Touring Car Championship from 1962.
He was also victorious in the Armstrong 500 and Australian GT Championship.
Mr Jane raced a Maserati sports car in Orange on the old Gnoo Blas racing circuit around Jack Brabham Park and the hospital, and won every race he was in.
He liked the track and when he was here for the car show said it was disappointing it had closed in 1961 because of opposition from Bathurst, which was worried about competition for Mount Panorama.
Mr Jane had promised to return to Orange if his health improved.
