The season may not have finished the way they would have liked it, but Bathurst Bushrangers swept the individual gongs in the Central West AFL’s awards night.

Donalee Delahunty and Andrew James took out the women’s and men’s top gongs with 18 and 20 votes respectively, claiming their first CWAFL best and fairest awards.
Both winners won by just one vote ahead of teammates, with the Lady Bushrangers claiming the top two places in the individual award and Bushrangers Rebels doing the same.
Troy Robinson was just one vote behind teammate James in the men’s count, while ruckman Pete Grundy tied for third with Parkes Panthers’ Isaac Bunge too, with 13 votes each.
Tim Barry, who was also the competition’s leading goalkicker with 71 goals, was the highest ranked Orange Tiger with 10 votes in seventh, with teammate Lucas Kelly and Dubbo’s Bevan Charlton-White tied on eight votes.
Delahunty claimed the women’s count by one vote ahead of Keeghan Tucker, with 2017 winner Emily Warner from Dubbo Demons in third on 14 points.
Bathurst Giants’ Danita Lane finished fourth on 11 votes, with Orange’s Erin Naden and Cowra’s Jacqueline Dresser tied on eight votes, and Tiger Bec Ford on seven votes.
Lauren Hazell from the Dubbo Demons was the women’s leading goalkicker with 55 majors during the home and away season.
In the juniors, Orange’s Nate Constance took out the under-12 best and fairest with 18 votes, ahead of Jade Leven from the Bushrangers on 14 and Mason Bright from Cowra on 13, while Constance’s brother Liam won the under-14s count with 19 votes.
Jacob Haeata from Cowra finished second with 16 votes, while Haeata’s teammate Connor Monroe finished in third on nine votes.
Jack Packham from Bathurst Giants won the under-17 best and fairest count with six votes ahead of teammate Jacob Molkentin and Bushrangers’ Macson Alexander, both who racked up five votes.
Orange Tigers’ Gemma Gailey raced ahead with 12 votes to win the youth girls’ count ahead of the Bushrangers’ Matilda Flood and Giants’ Sara Matthews with eight and six votes respectively.
Long-time Bathurst Bushrangers women’s coach Pete Neve picked up senior coach of the year, while the Tigers’ under-14 coach Daniel Bock was junior coach of the year.
Marc Hyland from the Cowra Blues was volunteer of the yearfor work with the Cowra juniors, coaching the 14s and youth girls teams as well as the representative Central West under-13 and under-14 sides at Nowra.
David Patterson was the Auskick volunteer of the year, while Matt Tabbernor and Dominic Gibson were awarded senior and junior umpire of the year awards.
