Central West Police District Inspector Linda Bradbury said the man was travelling north on Burrendong Way, about 20 kilometres north of Mullion Creek when he hit the verge.
The man tried to correct the white utility, but the vehicle rolled.
The southbound lane was closed for about two hours and contraflow arrangements were in place.
Police, Fire and Rescue NSW, the Rural Fire Service and paramedics attended the scene, but they were not required to free the man from the utility.
He was taken to Orange Health Service where he was treated for minor lacerations.
No charges or infringement notices have been issued, with police still investigating.
