Lithgow had the coldest overnight temperature, with the mercury dropping to a chilly -5.2 degrees.
It was also very cold in Young overnight with a low of -4.8 degrees, which was well below the long term average minimum for the month of four degrees.
Cowra recorded a low of -3.4 degrees, well below the average minimum for September of 4.5 degrees.
People in Parkes shivered as well with an overnight low of -2.9 degrees, while in Orange it dropped to -2.5.
In Bathurst the mercury plummeted to -2.1 degrees and it was also cold overnight in Forbes with a low of-2.0 degrees.
