“I wanted to be an elephant tamer, sleeping with the elephants” she said.
Several years later she has joined Australia’s best known human circus, Circus Oz, which will be performing at the Orange Civic Theatre on Saturday night.
“It’s a little different to what I imagined, I’m still touring but it’s different.”
Ms Tregonning is an acrobat who has worked with four different companies this year but Circus Oz is by far the biggest.
And it will take her everywhere from Brewarrina to Europe.
She said the group’s current regional tour include a fun time in the western NSW town.
“It was so cool. We did workshops with the community.
“It was so loose there, we had kids running around and a sausage sizzle going on in the background.”
After this three month tour they get a rest before heading to Europe for a season in Munich and Madrid.
Circus Oz is making its seventh trip to Orange with its current production Model Citizens.
There are 11 performers in the show, nine acrobats and two musicians who provide live music.
Their last visit to Orange was in 2015 with the show But Wait, There’s More.
The stars showed off their skills on the museum roof on Friday.
The show is sold out but go to Ticketek or call the box office at 6.30pm for any last-minute sales.
