Anyone who’s driven past Jack Brabham Park on a weekend knows the number of children playing soccer – or football, if you’re a traditionalist – is off the charts, but one town’s side is taking it to a new level.
The division one grand final in the Orange and District Football Association will be fought out between Cudal and Waratah Nashdale, setting the stage for the chance to show Orange how its done.
The prospect of one of Cudal’s 10 teams making the final is exciting the town, with signs and the primary school all getting behind the side.
Incredibly, there are 94 juniors in the club despite Cudal primary school only having 80 students, showing how football-mad the town is, showing serious support.
The under 12s division one grand final is at 9.45am on Saturday at Jack Brabham Park.
