Molong will be bursting at the seams this weekend as three thousand people descend on the town for the 154th edition of the Molong Show.

Show president Colin Woodhouse said he was “very excited” for the show, which would showcase some of the best produce, animals and crafting the town had to offer.
He said he was particularly excited by the needlework and photography sections, with the snaps on display particularly impressive.

“It’s mainly just photographers from our own area but mind you, a lot of them have been over to Broome and up to Karumba and the exhibits are good… you look at what other people have done and say ‘I’ve there but didn’t get a shot like that’,” Mr Woodhouse said.
He said Molong was getting into the swing of the show, with banners and posters up all over town, including guides out to the Showgrounds on Euchareena Road.
The weather is predicted to be cool after this week's warm spell, but Mr Woodhouse is hoping rain holds off.

“I know we want inches of rain but as long as it holds off until Tuesday that would be fantastic,” he said.
“After Tuesday in can bring down inches.”
There will also be an exhibit run in the main pavilion by Old Fairbridgians to make the 80th anniversary since the first child attended Fairbridge Farm, which Mr Woodhouse said was “creating a lot of interest”.
Old Fairbridgians Association president Derek Moriaty will be opening the show at 1.00 at the Main Pavilion.

- 6am: Gates open at Molong Showgrounds
- 8am: Yard dog trials
- 8.30am: Luncheon pavilion open for morning tea
- 9.00am: Main pavilion opens
- 10.00am: Public bar opens until 6.00pm.
- 10.30am: Pet parade and show commences in front of the main pavilion
- 12.00pm: Luncheon pavilion opens for lunch
- 12.30pm: City of Orange Brass Band perform
- 1.00pm: Official opening of the show, announcement of Show Girl and best dressed
- 3.30pm: Iron Man race
- 6.00: Show closes
