The concert at the Orange Civic Theatre on Friday September 21 is being organised by David Driscoll and the Orange North Rotary Club.
Mr Driscoll said apart from funds already raised through community barbecues he hoped to achieve the funding target on the night.
“If we can fill the theatre up we are confident we will raise the $35,000,” he said.
Guest performer is New York-based Australian pianist Andrea Lam.
“She is one of the best pianists in the world, she has played at Carnegie Hall in New York and the Sydney Opera House,” he said.
Mr Driscoll said she was playing in Melbourne the week before.
“She’s staying on for a week just to play at the concert,” he said.
“It really is a big thing for her to come to Orange.”
Every choir will be singing a dog-related song.

Apart from playing solo she will join in the concert’s massed finale that will feature all nine choirs, three percussionists and two grand pianos.
“The music is very contemporary, there’s some Lennon-McCartney, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, a lot of Australian material.
“And every choir will be singing a dog-related song.”
Six of the nine choirs are based at the Orange Regional Conservatorium and account for about 140 of the choristers in the show.
They will be joined by the Orange Male Voice Choir, the female Cantar Choir and the Orange High School Manchoir.
Mr Driscoll said the unique Come Together Choir had been rehearsing and performing in Orange for more than 10 years but this was believed to be the first time they would sing at the Civic Theatre.
This choir rehearses every Tuesday morning and is open to anyone who wants to join in.
Mr Driscoll said the funds would be used to breed, train and raise a guide dog for a vision impaired person.
He said there were about three people in Orange and 80 in the Central West on the Guide Dogs NSW/ACT waiting list for a guide dog.
It is anticipated the guide dog would be paired with one of those people.
