Four last start winners will feature in the Class 2 Handicap (900m) while many other of the sprinters in action are enjoying a consistent run of form.
The Gayna Williams-trained Ennazus is certain to be popular with punters having shown plenty of promise early in her career.
After running fifth on debut at Wellington in May of this year, Ennazus has gone on to win at Mudgee and Dubbo in her seven career starts. She has also finished in the placings in another event at Dubbo.
She heads into Monday’s event off a sixth-placed finish at Gilgandra last time out, and has the benefit of Greg Ryan in the saddle at the Wellington track.
The champion jockey will pilot the four-year-old mare from gate nine.
The likes of Garry Lunn, Darren Hyde, Connie Greig, and Kody Nestor will also be hunting winners during the seven-race meeting.
Williams’ fellow Mudgee-based trainer Cameron Crockett has Reprimand returning from a 17-spell in the sprint.
Reprimand scored back-to-back wins in his first two starts for Crockett earlier in the year, having linked up with the trainer after having his first three races for Bjorn Baker.
Mathew Cahill, who rode Reprimand to wins at Dubbo in April and May, again has the ride after returning from injury recently.
The top weight for the race is the Dennis Bush-trained Yeas And Nays, looking to follow-up his victory at Parkes last start while Olifants and Bay Of Modena, trained by Cody Morgan and Allan McRae respectively, also head into the race on the back of victories.
Bay Of Modena won at Wagga last time out, taking out a class one sprint during a showcase meeting.
Dubbo trainers Justin Stanley and Michael Lunn will also be in contention.
Stanley has Coroglen to go from barrier one, looking to bounce back from two disappointing efforts most recently.
The Michael Lunn-trained will go from out in barrier 15 in his first start from a spell with Rasit Yetimova taking the ride.
Stanley and Lunn are just two of the many Dubbo trainers who will make the short trip to Wellington.
