Lisa Dunn was pregnant with second child Jonty when she suffered complications.
A month from her due date, with roads flooded and no doctors in town for the weekend who could help her if something went wrong, she turned to Ronald McDonald House at Orange.
“I stayed nearly a month,” she said.
“Rob’s self-employed so he would come on Friday afternoons and stay for the weekend.
“There were healthy meals so we didn’t have to have take-out, the facilities were amazing.”
The Dunns also benefited from the house at Westmead Children’s Hospital when Jonty needed to be airlifted, but Mrs Dunn said he was now a healthy, energetic two-year-old.
